The second artist I looked at for my Painting project was David Hockney, I looked at his paintings and pencil drawings that involved interiors that were indoors, mostly of living rooms but the drawing of 'Bedroom' 1966 caught my eye in particular due to how clinical the lines are and how you can see the way he applied the pencil to the paper, I also like how subtle the colours are that he used.
Like David Hockney, I wanted to look at domestic interiors, I decided to do my paintings about my bedroom. I purposely chose to leave the bedroom bare, with limited details within the room, I wanted the paintings to be more about how the paint was applied and the marks that were made. I also experimented with colour, I chose to work with dark paint, black and grey mostly to see if I could still create light and shadows.
