For my 1st year Fine art 15 week project, I researched into an artist called Giorgio Cecchinato who uses metal wire in his sculptures, he creates earie human figures that are very figurative. The sculptures that he creates are usually holding a pose and they appear a little detached as they are hollow in places, I found his work fascinating and slightly worrying. In particular his work called ‘Memories of the Thirst’ these pieces are striking as he uses the metal to outline the shape of the body and create an uneasy experience.
He also has done some printmaking using the human body as the idea. After researching into this artist, I want to incorporate metal into my project, possibly use wire to create the outline of my sculptures and then possibly add other materials to create multimedia pieces
