1) What interests or drives you?
For my Year Two project I am interested in creating aesthetically looking interiors. I intend to use wood and other interesting materials to create furniture/sculptures and wall pieces. I also intend to create vases and other objects that will be placed on the created furniture. I want to explore whether design can be considered as a fine art.
2) What materials do you think might best serve your investigations? What media/areas do you intend to explore?
I intend to use a lot of different types of wood such as plywood, oak and other easily accessible wood materials as a starting point before I purchase more expensive waney edge wood. I aim to combine wood with other interesting materials such as clear epoxy resin and possibly concrete. For the vases and other objects, I would like to use clay which I can air dry or fire in the kiln and I would like to possibly have a go at wood turning to help with my investigations.
3) How will you measure your success?
I will measure my success by setting weekly goals that I hope to achieve. I will also measure my success from the feedback off my fellow peers and from the tutors. I also would like to get a 2.1 by the end of the year, so if I achieve that I would consider it a success.
