I spoke to Graham about getting hold of more natural pieces of wood and he gave me many suggestions on where to get them from, but he suggested in the mean time to use found wood or more easily accessible wood like plywood or hardboard, so i went through Graham's wood recycling bin and found wood that someone had cut this unusual shape into, i found it pretty interesting, so i took as many as i could carry to my studio space. I traced around the shape and i did some more wood rubbings but in the shape of the wood i had found. I also decided i wanted to pour the resin in between two of the pieces, however the resin i was using had been opened for quite some time and the strength of the resin had gone, it managed to bind them together but the resin was floppy and it couldn't hold its shape. It was definitely a step in the right direction but i knew i had to invest in a new batch of resin and hardener to get the required effect i was looking for.

During the time of making the wood and resin sculptures, i had researched into a sculptor called Greg Klassen, whose work is inspired by rivers and lakes, he would cut the shape of the river into the wood and then slot in a glass panel to create wonderfully interesting tables and wall art.
