Wood Block Cut

Inspired by Richard Woods woodblock prints, i decided that i would create my own wood block cut, i used cutting tools to engrave into the wood, attempting to follow the grain so that when i took my rubbings the details of the wood would show. I used crayons and a biro pen, materials that i hadn't used so far this term, i decided not to use similar colours to the wood and went more bold using reds and blues. The rubbings turned out well but I was getting rather tired of doing rubbings now and drawings, it wasnt satisfying enough, i needed to step in a new direction so i decided to work more with resin and create more sculptures from this point on.
